Year 6 – Elm Class

Hello! We are Elm Class, year 6!

This year our class teacher is Mr Noor. We are incredibly fortunate to also have Miss Tawiah working with us and Miss Phipps.

We know how big this year is, with SATs coming up in May and our transition to secondary school in September, but we enjoy working hard and learning new things. We particularly like the way that our topic and class novels link across all of our other lessons.

The topics we are doing this year are: The Journey of Trade, World War 2, Africa, Benin, The Windrush and Monarchy.

In Art, our teachers encourage us to use our unique and creative talents. We often work with visiting artists and we are taught to use new materials and develop new techniques.

As this is our last year, there will be lots of opportunities for us to take part in new experiences such as lessons outside of the classroom and workshops with professionals.

We are really making the most of everything Christ Church has to offer, especially the forest area where we spend many afternoons learning in the sunshine, creating things from the natural materials and sitting round the fire with hot chocolates and marshmallows.
